2nd day of class

My 2nd day in ju-jutsu class and I got my ass handed to me. I was thrown around like a rag doll. Loved every minute of it. I'll probably be in shape or dead in no time flat! It's amazing how you get so out of shape. I've worked out my whole life, but being back in an actual class comparable to high school days of football daily doubles shows me a little of why I loved the hard work so much. I've missed it.

Long time no post

Wow, It's been a whole week with no posting. Sorry! Through the weekend I just worked on my rock garden around the pool. I'm about 90% done! It's about time. I started a Brazilian Ju Jutsu class this week. The class is a blast, I can finally exicute some of the moves I see all the time. I've been around the striking side of martial arts for a while and practice pretty regular. There were no grappling places in Cheyenne and this one was to far away from my last job but now it's right around the corner from me!!!! I am a little sore this week but that's OK, having a blast.

Bruceleeroy, changing modes.

It's begining. This morning I filled out all the daycare paperwork for when my wonderful daughter to come visit me this summer. I will be out of party mode for the entire summer while she is here. Just a little over 7 weeks and she will be here, I cannot wait!!!! I will trade in my drinking nights for a trip to Disneyworld, going to childrens movies and having a bunch of obnoxious 6 and 7 year old girls running in and out of the house to jump in the pool and play barbies. If you do not have children this might sound like chaos but those who know me best know that my daughter is by far the most important thing in my life and I have been without her chaos for 6 months now. I miss it. McKenna will be here on the 9th or 10th of June for the start of what I'm sure will be one of the funest summers ever.

Saturday Night

After the fights we headed down to Printers Alley again. Pretty normal evening. Karaoke, drinking, shots, girls girls girls. We lost Ryan at some point, so Mike, Daniel and I headed on down the road. We stopped a big fight from happening as we left. A friend of J's was drunk to the point where he could not hardly stand and about 8 guys where going to jump him in the parking lot. Fortunately for J's friend the 8 guys where not that smart. I knew they where going to jump him in the parking lot because one of them told me on the way out. Safety in numbers, when J, Daniel, Mike and I walked him out they did not follow.

Good news for me!!! Mike is going to need to have his boat here in the Nashville area for the summer so he asked if he could park it at my house. Of course I will let him, I did tell him I'd use it from time to time which he is cool with. Boating anyone?????

We were able to catch back up with Ryan and get him back to his car about 12noon today! I don't want to share his secrets but if you want to see him squirm a little ask him what happened. :)))))

UFC 52

Spent all day Saturday laying around the pool, BBQing and having some good laughs with all the guys that came over to watch the fights. We were all excited to see Mike who came back from North Carolina the weekend to watch the fights and hang out with us. Unfortunately I was 4-4 this time around, about the worst picks I've had. Randy Cotoure lost to Chuck Liddell in an upset win. Randy looked strong and was controlling the 2 minutes of the fight when Liddell landed a vicious right hand, Cotoure was off balance which also didn't help. Chuck landed 2 more big blows when Randy hit the mat to put him out cold. Although I wanted Randy to win Chuck does deserve to have his chance holding the belt. He's a great fighter with incredible striking skills, Cotoure has fought all the big names at heavyweight and lightheavy and this is his 1st time being knocked out. Matt hughes did successfully defend his title against Frank Trigg, beat him the same way he beat him before. Early in the fight Trigg landed some big blows, we all thought Hughes had lost, he was able to grab hold of Trigg for about 35 seconds to get his witts about him. He then controlled the fight. Hughes fights at 170 and has the strength of most 205'ers. He's a great champ. I don't like Trigg's attitude so I'm glad he did not win. Joe Doerkson was able to defeat Patrick Cote. I was surprized by this victory, Doerkson has a lot of fights unders his belt but I have not been especially impressed with him. He seems like a class act in and out of the ring. In one of the best fights George St Pierree won a unanimous decision over Jason "mayhem" Miller. Miller could easily play a psycho in any major motion picture. Came to the ring in a freaky mask, puts platinum caps on his teeth and has this sadistic smile at all times, even when he was getting hit. This was a very entertaining fight to the end. Pierre just had way to much. I look forward to seeing both of these fighters again.Mike Van Arsdale beat John Marsh. Joe Riggs made a fatal mistake and too a kick to the jaw in his loss to Ivan Salaverry. Matt 'the law' Lindland made quick work of Travis Lutter and Renato 'Babalu' Sobral destroyed Travis Wiuff (pronounced View, I don't know why. Maybe Brett Favre knows?)

Countdown to UFC 52

We are within 48hours of the next UFC. I can feel the excitement. For us the party will begin in my pool at noon. Burgers throughout the day, possibly a beer or 50. I know few, if any, people read my predictions but I love this stuff so deal with it. HA!

Fight #1 Travis Wiuff (22-3-0) vs Renato Sobral (10-2-0)
I'm going with Sorbral in this fight.

#2 Ivan Salaverry (9-3-1) vs Joe Riggs (21-4-0)
This will be an interesting fight, these guys are both on the verge of being very good. An impressive victory by either could get them a step or two away from a championship bout with Evan Tanner. I got Riggs!

#3 Matt Lindland (9-2-0) vs Travis Lutter (7-1-0)
I don't know anything about Lutter so I'm sticking with Lindland.

#4 Mike Van Arsdale (not posted) vs John Marsh (12-4-0)
I'll go with Marsh, have never heard of these 2.

#5 Patrick Cote (5-1-0) vs Joe Doerksen (27-6-0)
I like Doerksen's fighting style and his toughness but I believe Cote will make short work of him.

#6 Georges St. Pierre (7-1-0) vs Jason Miller (22-4-0)
St. Pierre in the 1st round. He's been destroying people in the ring the past 18 months.

Welterweight Championship:
#7 Matt Hughes (38-4-0) vs Frank Trigg (13-2-0)
I'm taking Hughes in this one. He's known for just being bigger and stronger than anyone else in his weight class. He won the 1st time they fought and Trigg has not shown anything that will make me think it will go different.

Lightheavyweight Championship:
#8 Randy Couture (13-6-0) vs Chuck Liddell (14-3-0)
Anyone who's read anything on fighting on my sight knows I'm going witht the Oregon boy, Randy "The Natural" Couture. Another championship fight where the 2 have fought before. Just like the other one I have no reason to doubt that Couture will be able to take Chuck to the ground and get the KO.

Should be a good night of fighting. If ya know where I live you can stop by!

Wingsday Wingsday Wingsday

Wahoo, another Wednesday night at Hooters. To our surprize and amazement they have hired some new girls. Normally there are 1 or 2 really hot waitresses. Last night there were at least 7. We were able to enjoy the wonderful scenary that hooters has to offer along with all you can eat wings. Throw in a couple pitchers of beer and call er a night. We asked our watress as we always do...."how many times do you get hit on." Brittany, although very attractive, only gets hit on about once a week. Her strategy is to talk a lot about her boyfriend very early in the conversation to ward off the would be predators. We have so much fun there because we tell the girls up front we're gonna flirt but not ask them out. Some guy from the table next to us asked Brittany out right in front of us despite her best efforts to explain her boyfriend. The guy said "what boyfriend don't know wont hurt boyfriend". Pure Genius! A jackass at his finest, wearing his sunglasses through the whole meal even though it was raining and overcast outside. Unfortunately for him he was shot down. Brittany was not effected by his amazing come back lines. Good job Brittany! That was actually her 2nd of the week so she must be getting more popular.

If I've made any fight fans out there here is the Stephan Bonnar, Forrest Griffin fight from Saturday in wmv. Even though these guys just earned there UFC contracts this was a very good fight. (FYI - The whole thing takes about 20 minutes so it's not as quick ast the last one.)

George B. : - Yassir?
Condoleeza : - No, sir.
(Pause. Crumples paper)
George B. : - Condi, you're starting to piss me off now, and it's not 'cause you're black neither. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. So why don't you get me the Secretary General of the United Nations on the phone.
Condoleeza : - Kofi Annan?
George B. : - No, thanks. And Condi, call me George. Stop with that ebonics crap.
Condoleeza : - You want Kofi?
George B. : - No.
Condoleeza : - You don't want Kofi.
George B. : - No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk. And then get me the U.N.
Condoleeza : - Yes, sir.
George B. : - Not Yassir! The guy at the United Nations.
Condoleeza : - Kofi?
George B. : - Milk! Will you please make that call?
Condoleeza : - And call who?
George B. : - Well, who is the guy at the U.N?
Condoleeza : - No, Hu is the guy in China.
George B. : - Will you stay out of China?!
Condoleeza : - Yes, sir.
George B. : - And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.
Condoleeza : - Kofi.
George B. : - All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.(Condi picks up the phone.)
Condoleeza : - Hello. Rice, here.
George B. : - Rice? Good idea. And get a couple of egg rolls, too, Condi. Maybe we should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you get chinese food in the Middle East? I don't know.

Back to the Spring Hill Pub

I went down to play trivia at the Spring Hill Pub tonight, ran into my friend Randy. We teamed up against the locals and were able to post a 3rd place finish. I would like to go on record by saying we would have won if we'd used my answer for the final question. It twas a government/history question, a category I'm pretty solid in. Oh well, we will get mugs when they come in. I was able to secure the phone number of the hot bartender, a pleasant and unexpected high point of the evening. I have nothing to do with my Monday's now that the Ultimate Fighter is over. :(

Damn squeaky thing! Posted by Hello

My dog with his new toy. Posted by Hello

My Dog is a child

So I'm ready to go to bed for the night, let the dog in and begin turning everything off and brushing my teeth. Riku (ree-ku) starts whining and whimpering like he needs to go back out and go to the bathroom, but a lot worse than normal, seemed really freaked out. I was pretty concerned so I turned the outside light on and 'checked things out'. I let him out the door, he runs about 5 feet out the door, picks up this new toy that a neighbor bought him yesterday and walks back in. What a retard!

The Ultimate Fighter Finale

So here we go, the 1st reality show I've watched. All comes down to 1 fight for each round in the 1st televised live MMA event ever. This is big for Martial Arts since it's seen as being much more brutal than boxing, it hasn't been able to break into the mainstream. I hope that some of the readers have tuned in or seen some of the clips I've posted to learn more about it, maybe you'll enjoy it.
OK, they started off in the Middleweight division where Diego Sanchez fought Kenny Florian. This match started and ended exactly how I thought it would, as I've said before KenFlo is an excellent fighter with great skills. He normally fights at 170 and sometimes cuts down to 155, he just gives away to much strength and power at 185. After circling around for a full minute it took Diego just over a minute to completely destory Kenny and end the fight. Diego was crowned the ultimate middleweight fighter, given a car, a watch and a 6 figure contact in the UFC. I think he will need a little more work now that he is in the 'big leagues'.
On a side note I give a huge amount of credit to Kenny Florian, he went after this opportunity knowing full well he was out of his weight class, if you've never wrestled or boxed you may not fully understand what a difference 15 pounds can make in a fight. I believe Kenny will be in the UFC someday fighting at 155 or 170.
On to the Light-heavy's. Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonnar. I thought Forrest was going to dominate this fight. This may have been the best MMA fight in the history of the UFC, Forrest and Stephan both showed tremendous heart and stood toe to toe for 15 minutes. Due to the fact that in MMA 4 ounce gloves are used this is unheard of. (in boxing they use 16 ounce gloves, takes a lot off a punch) Even though I wanted Forrest to win I do believe that Stephan won the fight. The judges however all felt Forrest won 29-28. In an odd twist the President of the UFC proclaimed Forrest the Ultimate Fighter, gave him his car and his watch and then offered both fighter a 6 figure contract to the UFC. Good choice Dana! In post fight comments Stephan asked Forrest if he could have the car.

I would just like to take the time to say that even though I picked Syracuse and UConn to meet up for the final four championship game I did successfully pick not 1 but both winners of the ultimate fighter. I picked both Diego and Forrest at the beginning of the show!!! Kudos to me for all my worthless knowledge about fighting!!

After the 2 championship fights Ken Shamrock, the worlds most dangerous man, fought Rich Franklin, an up and coming fighter. Shamrock has been around forever, he was at the 1st UFC in Denver, CO in the fall of 1993. He is one of the most well known fighters in the world. This was an odd fight for him to take, really a no win situation. If he wins, he beat someone with a ton less experience than him. If he loses, his career may be over. Ken looked to come out and swing hard early and ofter, slipped a couple of times and Franklin was able to catch him with a big left cross, he followed that up with a quick flury that Shamrock could not defend. It was over quick. Sahmrock has been a great fighter and I'm sure he will be back but I firmly believe he is at the end of his road. Congrats to Franklin on a dominate win.

Friday Night

Daniel's brother in law turned 30 today. Old bastard! At any rate we had to welcome in the big 3-0 by drinking our weight in beer and tequila. Through a big party up at the E (I know I keep bitchin about the place but for the last 4 weeks, starting with my going away party, someone has planned something that I really didn't feel I should miss.) So we were up there having a big party for Chris, cake, candles, napkins and glitter, surprized noone bought hats. It was a great time. Daniel got his ass handed to him in a beer drinking contest. I can't participate because of my professional status! Carolina, Daniel sister was there to watch her brother make a complete ass of himself, she reads about it all the time and she saw it 1st hand. I'm sure it's not the first time, probably wont be the last. About 11pm we all got kicked out by the manager for being to loud. They didn't give any warning, just wanted us out. It was pretty wierd. We took our show onto the WH where we all enjoyed a good meal in a fine atmosphere. Oh, wait, that was someone else's night. We all had to watch Daniel be a complete obnoxious ASS, I almost knocked him out! Carolina probably would have helped.

My new favorite song to annoy people with

I am known throughout the office for getting the "woo hoo woo hoo hoo" song stuck in everyones head. Daniel and I have also infested many a bar with this lovely song. But now it's on to bigger and better ways to annoy people.

The Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch Song
When my belly starts a-rumblin', and I'm jonesin' for a treat.
I close my eyes for a big surprise, the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch.
I love the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch, the breasts they grow on trees.
And streams of bacon ranch dressing, flow right up to your knees.
Tumbleweeds of bacon, and cheddar paves the streets.
Folks don't front 'ya cause ya got the juice,
there's a train of ladies comin' with a nice caboose.
Never get in trouble, never need an excuse,
the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch.
I love the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch no one tells ya to behave.
Your wildest fantasies come true, Dallas cheerleaders give you shaves.
Red onions make you laugh instead, and french fries grow like weeds.
Ya get to veg all day, all the lotto tickets pay.
The king who wants you to have it your way,
that's the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch.

Lightheavyweight semi-finals

Last night on the ultimate fighter we got to see the last 2 fights before the finals! In the first fight we got to see Forrest vs Sam Hogar. The shows drama came in when we didn't know if Forrests cut would be ready, would he get Dr clearance. He did!!! The 1st round was pretty slow, feeling each other out, Forrest seemed to give Sam a lot more respect than I thought he deserved. With a couple of good high and middle kicks I felt Sam won the 1st round. Forrest came out in the 2nd, got Sam in a clinch and landed a couple of big knees which dropped Sam. Forrest jumped on him landing strike after strike, the ref had no choice but to stop it as Sam was only trying to defend himself by covering his face. You have to keep working if you want the fight to continue!
Mike Swick vs. Stephan Bonnar. In the second half of the show we got to see 2 more lightheavies match up to see who would fight Forrest. Swick is an excellent fighter and controlled the 1st round in my opinion, there was a lot of action and both fighters did well. Swick seemed to be controlling the fight with his superior skill. In the last 10 seconds he made a fatal error. At the 10 second mark Bonnar was in a perfect position to land a triangle choke, since there were only 10 seconds Swicks corner yelled for him to rain down punches rather than protect himself. With 2 seconds left he tapped out.

The trianle can be a choke, it can also be used to apply presssure (up to and including a break) to the elbow. What a lot of people don't understand, which was unexcusable for Swick and his cornermen, is that most if not all submission holds take no more than 1.5 to 2 seconds to complete when applied properly. Unfortunately for Swick this error in judgement caused him to lose. Congrats to Bonnar and Forrest.

Royce Gracie

http://www.roycegracie.tv/AkebonoVsRoyce.wmv

About a week ago I wrote on how impressive I think Royce Gracie is. I talked about him beating a man, quickly, who outweighed him by 300lbs. Here is the footage, commentary in Japanese. If you do not follow MMA, watch, you may find it interesting. Jujitsu is known as the gentle art, Royce is able to make his man submit without damaging him. Well not to bad anyway, you gotta punch! If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Another Friday Night on Printers Alley

OK, finally sobered up enough to talk about Friday night. Started at 4pm at the E. I've pretty much sworn off that place but this was a going away party for another manager at my old job, he got himself fired 2 days after I left. They tried to not replace me and give him a lot of my duties, he told them to take a flying leap! At any rate we started drinking beer as usual. Early on is when Daniel and I played the April Fools jokes, posted futher down! Had a good time with the people from my old job, I miss them a lot, good people. We had 4 "tongue in my panties" shots and a Jager along with the many beers. Soon it was 8pm and down to just Daniel, Ryan and I. We actually talked Ryan into going out, he is normally on call working for a bounty hunting agency. He's the supervisor so when they have a large transport he's on call, normally Fri/Sat nights unfortunately. At any rate we piled in the car and headed to printers alley where we were all mezmorized by the girl pictured below with that fat guy. She was outstanding. Daniel was swing dancing with the 1st girl he met, flipping her and spinnning her around like a rag doll. Then this guy started singing, he was awful. He started with Wind beneath my wings by Bette Midler. Someone then requested another 'female' song and he said "I have balls, I can't sing that hi." I said "no you don't". No regular readers and friends know that I can become a little, how should I say......LOUD! Everyone in the bar heard me, it was like in the movies when everything stops. "Did I say that our loud" Said I. "yup" says Ryan..and everyone shared a good laugh. Beer Beer Beer Jager Beer Beer Vodka Jello Shot Beer Beer VJS VJS VJS and it's 2am and we're dancing at the Karaoke bar!!!! Headed home well after the bar closed and rested until right now!!!

Friend at the Ice Skating rink.....FREE. Truck load full of snow shavings.....$50. Truck ride from skating rink to the favorite bar......30 minutes. 'snowing in' a friends car in Nashville, TN when it's 50 degress outside.....PRICELESS! Posted by Hello

Another successful April fools prank! Posted by Hello

She was better than anyone on American Idol this season, we all agreed! Posted by Hello

Daniel, as usual out on the dance from malest....I mean 'swing dancing' with some poor victum. OK, see the guy in the back. He sounded like a girl and looked like he was in pain while he sang. Posted by Hello

This girl had the best voice! She was singing on printers alley on Friday night. Posted by Hello

The Greatest April Fools Joke!

So Daniel and I were out on a Friday drinking, WIERD! We decided we needed to play a practical joke, who on.....My Ex and her mom 1500 miles away.

I will preface this by saying that my ex, her mom and I all get along very well and talk pretty regular since I call my daughter at least 4 times a week. (that is to say we all got along until a recent April fools joke!)

Daniel hops on the phone and calls my ex, gets the voice mail. "Hi, my name is Daniel I stole Jason's phone and I'm calling all his friends from here (Nashville) and Wyoming (where I moved from last year) to let them know that I am throwing a surprize engagement party for him in about a month. Give me a call on my cell *leaves his number* and I'll email you the info. We really wanted to sell this thing so then he called my ex mother in law, she was home. "Hi, my name is Daniel, I stole ........." Ex mother in law "Wellllllll, here's the thing. I'm Jason's ex mother in law and I probably wont be coming." Daniel says " Oh my god! i'm so sorry I didn't know. I screwed up, I didn't mean to offend you maam, I'm so sorry" My Ex mother in law (a very nice lady) "It's not a big deal, it's OK, we all get along it's nothing to worry about blah blah blah." About 10 minutes goes by and my ex calls Daniel back. "Hi, this is Erin, I'm calling you back". Daniel "Yes, I calling for a surpize......the whole speech" Erin "You've got Jason's Ex wife so I don't think...yada yada yada" Daniel goes back into his "oh I've screwed up routine" Erin tells him she knows, she had spoke with her mom. They get off the phone.

About 30 minutes after that my phone rings. We give it to Brittany to answer!!! "hello" Erin says "who is this" Brittany answers "Brittany!" in her cheeriest voice. Erin asks for me, Brit hands the phone over and Erin starts giving my the riot act, "who's that" me "Brittany."
Erin - "who's brittany"
Me - "a good friend"
Erin - "hmm, why is she answering your phone"
Me - "well, we're getting pretty close so sometimes her friends or family call my phone"
Erin - "fine, what are you doing right now"
Me - "playing an April fools joke!"
Erin - "on who"
Me - "you and your mom" :))))))))))
Erin - *head turned away from the phone* "McKenna! Come talk to your Daddy."

Haven't talked to her yet, she wouldn't talk to me!
